I then decided to return to my American roots, and move to Los Angeles. I had only been in the States for a month when I attained my first audition there, through a series of fortunate events. Days later, I had been cast in my first American feature film, Quarries. I play Brit, one of the seven lead female characters of the film. Brit is the bubbly, inclusive and incredibly chatty Kiwi of the group. It's an action-packed, female-driven thriller, with a twist you just won’t expect. Since then, I have been worked on various television series, including the new Lifetime Network Comedy series Battle of the Sexes. I also had a lead role in upcoming feature film Happy Birthday Duncan. I have been writing and producing my own work, and I have also been getting into the recording studio as much as I can to sing and record new material. As a Kiwi who was born in New York and grew up in New Zealand, I am lucky to move between both worlds. I intend to continue working on projects that touch my heart on both shores. I am a storyteller, and I hope to truly move people by the stories that I tell. I am an actress and filmmaker because I believe I can use the skills I have in this area to create positive change throughout the world. |
I was born 'Off Broadway' in New York City, and have been performing ever since! At the age of 10 I performed in my first musical in Dublin, in the lead role of 'Annie'. I caught the acting bug, and couldn't get enough of it. I then went on to perform a wide range of roles on stage, including Anne in The Diary of Anne Frank, Sandy in Grease, Mayzie in Seussical, and Belle in Disney's Beauty and the Beast.
And then I discovered screen acting. The honest intimacy, the deep level of raw vulnerability and the brave acceptance of imperfection depicted through this medium had my heart racing. How magical it is for the very subtlest of thoughts and emotions to be conveyed to a viewer through the mere flicker of an eye or twitch of lip. I grew up in New Zealand, running barefoot through the supermarket and eating fish & chips on the beach. Once I finished high school I went on to study Acting full time at Unitec, and completed my Bachelors of Performing and Screen Arts Degree in 2012. I had a range of guest star roles in network shows, including Power Rangers and Shortland Street. |
